Nope...we will have another CP3 trade in a few years, probably to Chicago. This team is snake bitten.

It all depends on how many home runs Demps hit or didn't this offseason. There really isn't much more that can be done if Hill and Buddy don't become good starters or better.

No. We just watched Kevin Durant leave a top 5-10 player in Westbrook and the year before that, Lillard wasn't enough to keep Aldridge happy.

I think the question becomes is AD more Durant or Westbrook? Duncan or CP3?

I mean on the positive side, both Marc Gasol and Conley had good arguments to jump ship if they wanted and both ended up seeing it differently and staying.

AD might be a Duncan in the sense that I don't think he really seeks the spot light but Duncan stayed in large part because he had good reason to put his faith in Pop and Buford. So far Benson/Loomis/Demps/Gentry doesn't seem like a regime worth hitching your horse to. Maybe if they get fired and you get someone like JVG and AD believes in him, but outside of that, actual winning will need to happen which will require significantly overperforming where this team currently is on paper.

Very good article.

As for the player comps, thats just silly. These are people who make decisions based on their realities.

Even Duncan flirted heavily w/ Orlando in 2000. And Westbrook took the best deal available this summer. Maybe he just loves OKC, is a "true loyal" player, and will stay forever, but resigning this summer doesn't prove that.

Bottom line is the Pels have to demonstrate they are at least a perennial 50+ win team, like Memphis, to have any chance of keeping him. Unfortunately, there isn't a ton of time left to do so, and even that may not be enough

He gone.

Wait a few years and we'll get the first pick again. Then just rinse and repeat. When you're a small market team and you're not the Spurs, I think we all know how this is gonna go.

We'll get CP3 or AD back when they're 42ish like KG back at the Wolves so they can go on some kinda bullshite redemption tour.

Wrong. Aldridge just wanted to go home. He could've had LeBron here and he would've still felt like he should go home. He wanted to be in Texas. This team went from Roy's team to LMA's for like two years the Lillard mania took over after the Rockets series.

Honestly, they have crap ?? to help him. They should trade while he is healthy, bring in 2 very good players + draft picks. It's fair to everyone, AD included. Why waste time with incompetent front office!
