if Cousins doesn't resign then it will be the end if Demps

This deal has to make up for any past poor deals imo.

Yes, but I think that the quoted point still stands. If Boogie doesn't resign, we're fricked and Demps should be canned IMO.

At the very least, somewhat insane going by that definition that people like to quote. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."

I think Dell should go regardless of how this deal turns out (unless we win the NBA championship Dell can stay then), but if rhus deal flops then there is no way Dell is here next year. So either way it is a net positive for the Pels.

BTW sportscenter is talking about the Pels cap and Boogie's deal as I type. This offseason the Pels can offer Cousins 5yrs $179million which is "considerably more" than what any other team could offer Cousins.

This is not what the OP is saying. Was it definitely this off-season or possibly next offseason?

The NBA cap is so confusing that anyone can get confused. The OP is half right and half wrong, the Pels can offer Cousins 5yrs but not the "max" that the Kings could have offered. The "max" was 5yrs ~$215million - $220million. The most any other team can offer Cousins now is 4yrs and ~$135million. So the $$$ is in the Pels favor.

No, I am right and guys like Windhorst don't know what they are talking about. For those who have followed me the last few years, you know I am always light years ahead of the big names on knowing the CBA inside and out. I wrote the book on things like ADs next contract and the stretch provision-- things ESPN wound up linking in big pieces because their own guys didn't understand them

Apparently, that extension can only be for 4 more years and would start a shade under 22 mil. Cousins will get way more than that if he just hits FA and re-signs then.

how?

he doesn't have the "max" option b/c we gave that to AD, but the CBA skews contracts in favor of teams who own the player

how in the ever living hell is another team going to be able to offer him "way more" money?

Plain old veteran extensions, which is what you would be extending Cousins with, suck. They are based on the last year of salary which isn't good when the cap has been accelerating at such a rapid pace the past few years. The salary in Cousins last season will be $18 million. You're able give him a 20% raise on that with an extension, so starting at $21.5 million. If he waits for FA, he'd get a current max level deal starting at $31 million.

Our AD next contract is our most read article of all time by far. Basically because everyone linked it. Only guys who know the CBA as well as me are Coon and Calmes and our track record speaks for itself
