Looking ahead, Motiejunas hopes to propel the Pelicans into the playoffs as a role player and form a dynamic tandem with Anthony Davis in the frontcourt.
“My goal is to help Anthony Davis to be better, my goal is to help the other players play the right way, help them to find a role,” Motiejunas told Basketball Insiders. “I’m the player who’s going to, if you’re wide open on the floor, I’m going to pass you the ball. That’s who I am. I’m unselfish. I try to make the team better, so I think I’m going to fit them perfectly. I will connect Anthony Davis with our teammates and, from my vision, I’m here to help them to play more as a unit, that’s my goal. We have a lot of great shooters here who can take open shots. I think they were missing the person who could deliver the ball to them and who can space when Anthony Davis is playing in the post or on the elbow. That’s who I am. That’s who I’m going to try to be.”

I've been really surprised at just how good his passing is. He's very quick at moving the ball and getting it to the right spots.

Can we just keep him?
DMo got about $8 million per year from Houston/Brooklyn, stretching Asik frees up about $7 million in cap space. If there are no health concerns they can probably keep him unless they somehow manage to get in on a max FA and need all of their available cap space.

He's clearly the slickest passer on the team already. He's perfect for a ball movement offense.

a big who is 7'0, not an absolute liability on the floor on either ends.
yet puts up 7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists in 19 minutes.
yeah, please. He's our version of Draymond Green.

I'm already getting to the point I hope we don't lose him.
I overall don't want Demps any longer, but he does occasionally get you a Qpon or DMo type steal.

He's competent in finding them, he's incompetent on what to do with them after.
Ennis: SF that shot very well, decent defense, young, and could have been kept for cheap to develop. Lets him go to sign Hill for a sizable contract which showed less promise than the guy on your own squad.
Ryno/EG: knew you were not going to re-sign him, had chances to flip them both for assets, lets them expire and nothing in return.

I'm kind of ok with this.
What if he flips those guys into even worse contracts?

i mean most reports heard were ryno for dmo (who was expiring) and a pick wasn't it? He just took the money and spent it on Hill how much worse can it be

As a Rockets fan, I really wanted to keep him. Y'all got a good one.
He has a lot of tools - passing, shooting, post moves, and a good rim protector when AD sits. Only negative is he sometimes send to listen to his dumbfrick of an agent.
