Is every other player in the NBA who is struggling nervous?

Of course not. I've never talked about nerves with any other player before, but it just seemed really noticeable to me in the earlier games. Granted the stream quality was pretty bad, but I didn't get the same feeling during his horrible shooting in Summer League. And it's not like I'm one of the Buddy fanatics, I was probably the 2nd biggest Buddy skeptic on this board leading up to the draft and went back and forth quite a bit with the fanatics, so I really don't think I'm seeing something I "want to see."

You, me and everyone else saw the same thing. He looked incredibly nervous out there for the first 3-4 games. The only shots he was making were catch and shoot, when he didn't have time to overthink things. Last night he looked much more comfortable. I agree with you, that his shooting troubles before last night, were more mental than anything.

He is an average guard in that scenario offensively, despite great percentages

Jamaal Crawford's career FTA per game is 3.5
JJ Redicks is 2.3
Kyle Korver is 1.3
Klay Thompson is 2.4
Kris Middleton is 2.4
Jason Terry is 2.5
Bradley Beal is 2.8
J.R. Smith is 2.3, and he could get to the rim and finish if he wanted to b/c of his elite athleticism, unlike most of the others I've listed.
The great EG actually did a good job getting to the line before his injuries, around 5-7 on average his first 5 years, then a big drop off.

Gordon Hayward is 4.4 career. Started off slow, but is now up to around 6 a game. And he's a lot bigger than Buddy.

Ray Allen was 3.8 for his career.

Not sure who you think Buddy is, or is capable of becoming. He's more in line with the shooting type SG, not the Dwayne Wade, DeRozen, Harden, Butler type get to the free throw line 10 times a game SG.

doesn't mean the guys I listed that shoot under 4 FTA a game on average are just average guards.

Buddy isn't a big bullying SG, and he isn't an athletic freak. if he gets to the line on average 4 times a game during a season, that would be very good.

There are other guys on the team that contribute to us getting guys into foul trouble and into the penalty. Those guys likely can't shoot like Buddy. It's a team sport. If Buddy could do everything, then he'd be the next MJ or Kobe.

I meant for Summer League. I saw his nervousness in HD during the regular season. I appreciate the offer though

terrible reading comprehension by me. I was just so taken aback by the "bad stream quality" that I couldn't finish the rest.

I used to watch shitty streams of the CP3 era since I didn't have Cox, so I know that feeling.
I watched Peja hit that turnaround 3 against the Suns to win it on 1/4th the size of my 19" computer screen. It was slightly better than scrambled porn from the 90's, but I still jumped out my chair when it went in.

his shot is starting to fall a little more. he isn't rushing or over powering it. his tempo is much better, I think as he plays more he will settle in. it doesn't hurt that they are setting some screens and picks to grab him some breathing room to settle down and take good shots. he isn't quite ready to have NBA defenders all over him while shooting contested shots. but that is okay, we can slowly increase pressure and contact but he needs to see shots fall and be confident in tempo and mechanics.
