I just worry about the fact that college coaches just don't seem to do well in the NBA.

I dont think so, he runs a better offensive system than like 75% of NBA teams. Constant motion, ball movement, unselfishness and always finding the best shot. It really looks like those prime warriors teams with all the movement and passing.
