With Demps looking at SGs, I think Lee should move to the top of our list.

per Marc Stein

Housekeeping note: Rockets swingman Courtney Lee is now an unrestricted free agent after Rockets withdraw his qualifying offer

He shoots the 3 well and can play defense. I'd love to have him over Belinelli. He'd actually be a nice insurance plan to have if Gordon goes down.

Agree with this. What was the QO that HOU backed out?

The Rockets extended a $4.3 million qualifying offer to guard Courtney Lee on Friday, ensuring he will be a restricted free agent to allow the team to match any offer sheet he receives, a person with knowledge of the move said.

If we could get him for around that amount it would be a huge steal imo.

11-12 stats:
30.3 MPG
11.4 PPG
43.3 FG%
40.1 3PT%
1.2 SPG

He's only 26 as well.

Rockets had to pull the offer in order to make the Asik deal. Lee said he is looking for a little more than the MLE. I think he would be a great fit in New Orleans, but I don't think you guys would want to pay that much for what would be a backup SG.

WTF are the Rockets doing? They're letting their two most promising players walk and signing a stiff.

Asik will be a colossal bust.

Wow, if we can get him under 5mil, that is a pretty damn good deal for a decent scorer and insurance policy. Much better than Belli IMO

I think he's worth it for the kind of production he puts out. I'd be all for it.

Easily better. Plays MUCH better defense and can shoot the ball better. Even if we have to go to $5-6m per year I'm ok with it.

same here. I'd love him for a fair price

He even has the size to play some SF. I don't know about starting there but I'm sure he can contribute.

trying to sign lin and brought in lamb to backup martin. they were trying to trade both lowry and martin but it doesnt look like it'll happen so they will keep the 2 of them, and the cheaper out of lin/dragic and lee/lamb.

One thing to keep in mind is if the Bulls match Asik's contract than Lee will go back to being a restricted free agent.

I'd like Beli for 2.5 mil better. We have enough money invested in the 2 guard spot. If something bad happens Rivers or Jack can more to the 2.

Lol Asik is worth about a third of what he signed for. Bulls will laugh at that offer. Reminds me of that guy the Warriors signed a while. And he was more promising than Asik.

Hell no. Lee does everything better than Belli, plus he has enough size to fit in well at the 3 when we run a small lineup.
