With this coming out now, its going to be a long year in the Hive for CP3 if he sticks around & we can't trade him because he'll only go to NYK
THis makes me think that he knows he will be gone before he starts playing games. He will be brutalized worse than Lebron if he tries to play here this year. Atleast Lebron gave the impression that he might stay in Cleveland.

Ah, so you want him to do something that would hurt the Hornets even more?

How does that make logical sense?

Doing this now means he won't walk in FA and we get nothing.

It also means this doesn't have to linger on all season long.

This is the best of the 3 scenarios, let's look at this realistically.

He leaves this organization, and he is leaving the chance to be a franchise player for life. What are they going to give for him? Jay Z tickets and an I Heart NY shirt?

I hate to see this happen, but dish him to someone like the Clippers or somewhere where we can get a big player. We have so much space to dish, we can build this thing up.

dumb.

how did that work out for the cavs?

lebron said he might stay, he left and they got nothing in return.

so you'ld rather cp3 say he might stay, and then bolt and leave the hornets high and dry?

I haven't seen anything that said it's Knicks or bust. The report just said he wanted to be traded to the Knicks, not that he'd refuse other trades. If that were the case what was the purpose of leaking that he'd resign with the Clippers? Either way, other teams will pay more than NY to rent him. Even if the Clippers gave up Gordon and Jordan they would be an SG signing away from being a darkhorse contender. No way Paul walks away from a near contending team in LA to take less money with the Knicks. Boston is in a similar situation. If Ainge can make a few other moves CP3 would be a fool to walk away from them. It'd be everything he's always claimed to want so he'd leave it because it's the wrong set of BFFs?

By saying he wants to go to the Knicks, he's implicitly saying "I won't sign an extension anywhere else."

Few teams outside of the Mavs will trade for a franchise player who is willing to walk outright at the end of the season.

since when are the clippers on teh verge of being a championship team? they have some great young parts, but they ALWAYS seem to have great young parts. its the clippers for christ sake, the worst nba organization by far and there are some really bad franchises in the nba.

For the record, I know why he wants to go to NYK. I just wish he was willing to go to the clippers

well, its obvious that is where he wants to play long term. At least at this point.

That had no basis. Not that he wouldn't, but his agent is saying NYK. He is actually putting his name to that. If he would go LAC, why wouldn't his agent say that?

NYK- Carmelo & Amare are young and signed long term. The future of NYK is set in stone compared to the other teams. Not to mention the huge market. The NYK are set up best to win in the future.

Bos- Old team. Garnett and Ray Allen are FA's next year. Paul Pierce is signed long term but is aging. He isnt going to sign onto a rebuild.

LAC- they sell the house to get CP3, they are left with him and Blake Griffin, and they hope they can sign DHoward or someone else in free agency after this season. Too many question marks, unless some type of verbal agreement with another player about coming there next season. How is this situation a "near contending team"?

Not in the same ballpark.

If he was trying to help he would sign an extension for sign and trade and he doesn't want to do that. So he bitches all year and we get nothing. Why do we want to take on knocks players with multiple years on a contract?they don't have picks to offer us. frick him.he quits half the time anyway
