I'm about to end this convo he's pel now so I hope he is Wade with a 3 point shot so we could have our second super star. I think a more realistic ceiling is Bradon Roy or Klay Thompson.

Why not?

There are some question marks about what type of creator he will be at an NBA level, though, as he at times struggles to turn the corner already against quicker collegiate guards, and can't always create much breathing room against bigger and lengthy wings.

In traffic, as he doesn't always have the size or explosiveness to finish effectively against rim-protectors, and thus relies very heavily on his shot-making prowess from the perimeter.

does not possess an exceptionally high basketball IQ.

In part because Hield attempted plenty of high-difficulty, off-dribble shots, he did not blow away the field in off-dribble efficiency, ranking in the middle of the pack among 2016 shooting-guard prospects

The playmaking aspect of Hield’s game is limited. He averaged just one assist per 10 possessions used this season, and had an assist-turnover ratio of 0.66-to-1

Wade has all of this in spades
and then there is his defense, or lack thereof

Admittedly, Wade was better around the rim, but I believe that can be taught.
that can't be taught, brah! Not even MJ could do some of what Wade did around the rim in his prime.

- ask yourself this. If D. Wade could shoot the 3, could he be like Buddy Hield?

I'd be satisfied if Hield developed into a shooter like Curry. Comparing him to Wade is stupid.

+1

I'll be satisfied if Diallo develops into a defensive force like Ben Wallace, too

False.

If 2003 Wade had a Hield Shot, he's be one of the best, 100%.

Hield already has the shot.

I'm simply asking if he has the ability to model his game after Wade, and looking for legitimate arguments as to why he can't.

I'm sure he'll never actually be a D Wade, but I see glimpses of how they're alike.
You all take the hysterical, emotional, hyperbolic approach. Calm down and look at the tape and the numbers.

It's gonna be okay, I promise.

You all are arguing that he can't play like Wade because he doesn't have the same vertical.

Let's talk about how he comes off of picks, how he runs the open floor, how he assists in certain situations.

But no, you've mentioned nothing of that sort.

Dude- look at that wall of text I posted above. Not once does it mention the word "vertical".

nobody has said anything about a freaking vertical. Athleticism encompasses so much more and buddy does not have near the athleticism. You keep saying someone explain instead of making jokes yet we have tried over and again

I haven't seen anything saying how he can't develop a game like Wade.

I see the wall of text, but how does that compare to Wade?
