Didn't get to watch the game because of a wedding but 21 points.. 8/17 and 5/8 behind the arc sounds great! Did he look as good as the number say?

Yes, he looked really good. Feel like he's been coming along as a player. Today was huge for him.

My biggest thing with him was confidence. In the games I watched he looked very timid and nervous. So hopefully a 21 point game will give him the confidence to blow up bc lord knows we need it.

It is definitely the sort of development you want to see from a rookie.
He seems to be making fewer and fewer mistakes defensively(Even Gentry gave Buddy props for defending tonight..though he still has work to do IMO), smarter decisions offensively and his shots are falling. I am sure he is going to have a string of 2-11pt games and haters will come out of the woodworks, but underneath that I like the progress he is making mentally and mechanically.
The non-game thing I love to see(and a part of why I think he is a good fit as a player around AD) is his energy. Up off the bench after a good play and the first to try and high five players for good shots. Running across the court to be the first to help AD up after a foul or congratulate a good play. The sort of unsung component to success from a cultural perspective you hear coaches like Pop and Kerr talk about.
If he can put it together on the court and earn respect for his skills as a player to the point of being looked at as a leader from his teammates in a couple years, that is the sort of stuff that is contagious to a locker room IMO.

Definitely, he looked a lot more comfortable tonight. Had a couple of dimes too, was able to help create for his teammates and also get better looks. Would love to see him build on this and continue to improve

he did pretty much do it all in 1 quarter. I think he had 17 in the 3rd. But that's who he is, and what he did at Oklahoma. He'd score 28 a game, but he'd get 10-12 in a span of 3 minutes. He can go 2/7 to start a game, and then hit 6 of his next 10, like he did tonite.
He can't do that if you only play him for 4-5 minutes at a time and he touches the ball twice in those 4-5 minutes.
You could definitely see some confidence with him tonite, which is what he's been lacking.
I thought for sure he'd jack up that wide open corner 3 with 58 seconds left up 8, but he smartly backed it up and got it to Jrue to waste clock.

at last.
and Tyreke is on the floor too.
whew.
rats. I just looked at the standings. OkC is in the 8th spot.
there are no bad teams in the 6 to 8 slots. all with really good records.
You can probably get a 4 seed in the east with the 8th place finish in the west.

The main thing that stood out for me tonight from Buddy was his confidence.

One of his tre's was a super quick trigger from the corner you only attempt when you're feeling it. He was on fire in the third, at that point had 14 pts in the quarter, 18 for the game. I immediately said there's the Oklahoma star!
ETA: he got a lot of minutes with Tim Frazier out

The thing that stood out to me outside of the points, he started out hot making a few quick buckets. He kind of rolled into a slump after the hot start but was able to gather himself and finish with confidence. Good to see.

YAY!!!
I hope I was wrong about Buddy. He seems really likeable, and we certainly need the talent. GEAUX BUDDY!

He was extremely calm and collected tonight. Seemed in total control, the exact opposite of his first few games. Little things like passing up an open three and pulling it out with a minute and a half left. Made some real winning plays.
On a side note, I would love to know what his 40 time is. Buddy is lightening fast. A LOT to like about tonight even above his black and white paper statistics(which were also good).

He did well. Confidence is building

He did look good on both sides of the court. I like how he does only shoot the 3. Taking some closers shots and driving seemed to give him the confidence he needed
A few of his shots did not even move the net when they went through

His shooting was finally on like we know it can be. The thing that caught my attention was his defense, especially late. He was staying in his man's pocket while navigating screens quite a bit. There was at least one time that he stopped the intended action on a pick and pop with disciplined hustle.
The pick has been looking better with each game as he is starting to get some consistent run.

Gentry giving him the starting nod has done wonders for his confidence. He's started out the last two games (GSW and IND) with 2 quick buckets to begin things. He's always going to be a rhythm guy and if his rhythm is there, he can cook. Now, I want to see it in crunch time.
Posted on 12/16/16 at 9:30 pm to NOLAbaby
Your right, he is a rhythm guy. Problem is, despite getting into rhythm the last few games, they don't try and get him the ball more. Tonight he went 2/2 in the first 2 minutes and then it seemed he didn't get another shot until 2 min to play in the half. By then, he was forcing a shot to try and get involved in the game again
