Ryan and Jake ran through the Eastern Conference teams looking for trade partners and came up with a few interesting proposals.

Ryno to Toronto for their 1st/Scola/prospect like Nogueria/filler The same trade we've discussed here, probably the most you'll get for Ryno unless some unforeseen blockbuster happens that he can be part of.

Ryno to Detroit for Illyasova This is a "no good trades for Ryno but we aren't going to pay him $20 million and Markieff Morris is crazy" move to get a cheaper Ryno replacement.

Tyreke and Ajinca to Charlotte for Batum. If Charlotte doesn't want to max out Batum this gives them 2 good players under reasonable contracts. I'm not so sure Charlotte trades Batum though even if they don't want to pay him. They are fighting for the 8 seed and I don't see a Batum trade that makes them better this year.

Top 3 protected 1st, Cole and Babbitt to Orlando for Oladipo. You could also modify this to bring back Jason Smith as well if you throw in either Cunningham or Gee and Perkins.

They did list some other trades but these were the ones that stood out to me as realistic and/or interesting. I still don't think Charlotte trades Batum, but if you could somehow pull off the 1st, 3rd and 4th trades, that remakes the team pretty significantly.

Holiday/TD
Oladipo/BDJ
Batum/QPon
AD/Scola/Cunningham
Asik/Jason Smith/Nogueria

#25, #36, #38
MLE

There's not much defense on the 2nd unit but you add a lot of hustle and IQ with Oladipo and Batum, and your small ball lineup sliding Batum to the 4 and QPon to SF looks pretty potent on paper.

That pick is a lot for Oladipo. Nice player, but if they are picking around 5-7, I think they have a good shot of finding a guy just as good. Would you take Oladipo over Hield, Brown, Murray or Dunn?

Batum is unlikely, but would be great. Doubts with him resigning in NO this summer if it were to happen, but worth the risk if they're giving up Evans/Ajinca.

We aren't picking 5th unless they actually try to tank. So change your question to Hield/Murray vs. Oladipo and my answer is a question, can Fred Vinson fix Oladipo's shot?

Dipo is a high IQ hard working guy

His 3 point shooting percentage is better than rekes when he came here and we know how bad it was.

Huge Dipo fan. Love everything about his game but his jumper. Coincidentally, if the Pels have done anything right, it's coach up jump shots. The one notable exception was Rivers...still unfathomable to me that a coach's son has such terrible form.

Maybe. Maybe not. Davis gets hurt, things get ugly in a hurry. Plus, right now we have no clue who will rise/fall in the draft. Lillard was not a top 10 pick and Barnes was a top 3 guy that year months ahead of the draft.

That helps, but Dipo has got more holes than just his shot. Would I prefer him over Gordon? Certainly, but I don't think he's THAT much better.

And, again, if you think you can get similar value from that pick, why move for Oladipo and then have to pay him a ton more starting in 17/18? He's not lifting the ceiling of this team much. Feels like a band aid/treadmill off mediocrity type move.

Dipo isn't much better than lemonhead? WTF. He definitely needs to work on his jump shot, but Dipo plays very well on D...EG plays no D. That is just for starters. Also, he has two knees.

So come on...

The THAT being so much better that you give up a lottery pick (a likely top 8 pick) for him.

He's just not. You're paying that price to get a D and 3 guard. No thanks.

I do'nt know where this came from.
He hasn't been great this year, but last year EG was playing very good D. EG should have opted out last year. His play this year compared to last probably will cost him a few million.

and why can't Oladipo shoot?
He's improved his 3pt% and his FT% every year so far. He's shooting a respectable 35% this year. What's wrong with that?
