Eric Gordon’s beautiful, moonball, knee-weakening, once-in-a-generation jump shot. It’s just perfect. I love it. I love everything about it. Every time he shoots it, the Clippers crowd goes quiet for a split-second like one of the cheerleaders just pulled up her shirt. Even the spin is gorgeous. I can’t say enough about it. I am in love with Eric Gordon’s jump shot. I want to marry it. I want to have kids with it. I will go to at least one practice or shootaround this year just to see him hoist 200 of them. And by the way, the kid is going to be great — he’s bigger than I thought, and when he drives to the lane, defenders just bounce off him. He will end up being the third-best guy in that draft. Unless, of course — and I’m contractually obligated to mention this since it’s the most jinxed franchise in sports and we’re only two years removed from Shaun Livingston’s knee flying off his body and landing in the eighth row — something horrible happens to him. Please, Lord, no. Just give us a decade of Gordon jump shots. I don’t ask for much.

It's okay (IMO) to cheer for teams that play in two separate conferences so long as he remains loyal to his original team (Celtics) and only adds the new team (Clippers) to quench his love of live NBA games (and also to be able to share memories with his young kids like his dad shared with him).

Anyway the point was not to allow you to show how "cool" you are for hating on the most popular sportswriter of our generation - the point was to get us pumped about EG10.

Except he shoots it from his chin.

Anyone who actually reads Simmons knows he doesn't cheer for the Clippers.

Also, I think any basketball fan should read his book. It's amazing.

I always thought Gordon had an odd-looking shooting form.

Maybe if the Clippers' injury bug rubbed off on Gordon, then the Suns' magical healing powers rubbed off on him this time.

He does. He releases the ball very low.

I don't care if he shoots a a jumper from his knees...as long as it goes in more often than not

Agree 100%. I never said anything different. Just pointing it out since Bill Simmons called it "perfect".

ETA: Mark Price had the most perfect shooting form I've ever seen.

I'm a strong advocate of the 1 team philosophy but I'm probably gonna pull hard for the Kings with MT23 and T Rob.

Now that he will be playing for us, I guarantee that Simmons will find something negative to say about EG. He's such a homer, either to teams in Los Angeles or Boston except the lakers

Bill Simmons is the man.

Also, a beautiful shot is equivalent to poetry in motion.
