$19.99/month OR $189.99/year. How is this going to help grow the Pelicans fanbase at all?

Its discussed in the other thread but the Pels really really fricked up going back to Ballys. Just a terrible decision.

People are definitely pissed off about it on the twitters.

Forgive my ignorance, but will the Pels still be on TV for free on FoxSouthwest or whatever it was last year?

That was actually still Ballys last year, but yes, if you have a cable provider that carries that station, you will still get it for free.

I believe this is the list of providers that carry it:

DirecTV

AT&T U-verse

DIRECTV STREAM

COX

Charter/Spectrum as well, at least it has been the last few years.

I don't understand - so you are complaining about having to pay $1.25 a game?

I pay more than that at the parking meter when i attend every game.

are they still planning to black out viewers outside of metro NOLA if the game isn't a sellout?

The Pels publicly laid out what they were looking for before conducting a "search" and Bally's met pretty much none of the criteria. There has to be a reason they didn't switch. Normally I'd be cynical and assume Sinclair over paid, but they've considered both declaring bankruptcy and spinning off/selling off the Fox Sports Regionals they just bought because it's been such a money pit. So I don't think they can over pay

The unexpectedly short length of the deal and the ability to opt out even earlier stands out as the reason why they stuck with Sinclair. There's been speculation that the NBA might eventually take over local broadcasting. If I had to guess I think that is happening sooner than later so the Pels valued flexibility and stuck with Bally's so they could opt out in 2-4 years.

It's more than Netflix charges per month, and Netflix has a TOOOOOOOOON more content.

In a vacuum it may not seem bad, but when you have context that is horrible value for your entertainment dollars.

At least there's always nbabite.

There’s nothing more to tell. It’s a streaming service that gives you literally everything. I got rid of cable and use this exclusively and miss nothing. I get literally everything.

At what point do cord cutters swallow their pride and admit that cable is still the better option?
