Any interest in Killian Hayes?

He got waived today. Maybe a buy low target for a backup pg? Def not our biggest need, but more talent is never a bad thing.

I'll ask the same thing I did in the other thread...
Who do you drop to open up a spot and who's minutes do you take away to get him playing time?

Why wouldn't we be interested in a guy who's like prime Tony Allen without the defense?

First of all, we still have an open roster spot right? We’re assuming Karlo goes there, but maybe he’s more of a 2-way guy.
Secondly, I think it is guaranteed that Hayes has the talent, just not if he can be an impactful NBA player. That’s while it’s a gamble, albeit a relatively low cost one.

He was literally cut by the worst team in the league that is looking for NBA talent. What makes you think he has the talent?

He has the worst +/- in the entire league

Size, speed, etc. the statement said his side asked to be cut. Sounds like it wasn’t a fit. They brought him in as the PG of the future but then Cade and Ivey fell into their laps. He just can’t play his normal position bc they lucked into MORE talented players.

This is incorrect he sucked before Cade and Ivey got there. Dude has never been good in the NBA. I rather take a gamble on a younger guy tearing up the gleague than investing in Killian.

Who said investing? I’m talking about a cheap contract with team options to cut him if he doesn’t show anything. Even if he sits on the end of the bench and never plays, no harm no foul.
Besides I never said I was gung-ho for signing him, just posing the question.

I get what you’re saying but maybe id offer a 2-way but he wouldn’t get a roster spot in my opinion. Especially on our team thats looking to win now.

I mean in fairness he was only 19-20 years old before Cade got there, most 19-20 year olds aren't great basketball players. And he did average 10 ppg last year, although incredibly inefficient. Someone is going to pick him up, he's still young.
I don't think we should, but it's not like it's an outrageous question.

Yes, I would take a flier on him, we got a roster spot, so it wouldn't hurt.

I’d rather sign somebody who isn’t one of the worst players in the nba, yet expects to play because he still thinks he’s the guy who got drafted in the top 10

Hey hornets cut bouknight- we should sign him too smh.

If you get cut from a 7 win team when you have an expiring contract something is wrong
