13-5-5 this year. No thanks to giving almost $20m a year to that. He's a very good player but not worth the money. He probably wouldn't come here anyway if he's opting out with Denver.

I agree. The money is already there if that's what he's after. He's getting up in basketball age. He's probably gonna join a established team with a legit shot at winning it all.

Very risky business decision unless Iggy knows something we dont, or the Nuggets told him they cannot keep him at tht price, but they are in ok shape cap wise. I just at his age cannot see many teams giving him $16M a year. I still think Wilson Chandler at the right price is a better option if we cannot get Porter.

That completely changes how Denver approaches the offseaon . . . takes them from likely over the tax, maybe the apron, to likely under the cap.

Could be fun.

Iguodala is overpaid. Pass on him if it takes anywhere near the $16m-ish he was going to make next season.

We need a FA prospect thread bad.

How about a thread for each FA that is likely to cost over $10m to keep that news sorted.

This board doesn't want to over pay for any player and that's what it's going to take to get him here.

I think he gets a deal similar to what Gerald Wallace got.

We need to work on reliable long term players to make a core... also need reliable 4th q finishers desperately

out of all the FA Iguodala is the perfect player for Monty to have on the court. He could guard the best perimeter play, hit the open jumper, bring a Veteran Presence to the locker room & great in the open floor.
This off season we will have to over pay for @ least 1 player. But we are 40mil under the luxury tax

Thats what every team that goes on to make disastrous offseason decisions says.

Im sure that was Bower's attitude when he decided James Posey was a good idea. Or Detroit when they decided to write stupid checks to Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva.

Iggy is the type of guy a contender brings in as a final piece. Its the classic overreach for a team like us, picking in the top 5 to decide to give crazy money and years to a guy turning 30 because they think they're closer to contending than they actually are. He's already coming off of his worst season since his rookie year. We'd be begging for somebody to take that contract in 2 years.

The cap room will be there next year too. You don't HAVE to overpay for anybody

In general the board thinks anyone other than the top players in the league are overpaid. But the concern is legit here. I think his age and reliance on athleticism make him a much better fit for a win now team.
