SIAP didn't see it posted. Thought we could discuss.

quote:

Davis was asked about some of the weirdest questions campers had for him, and he said one stuck out above them all. "I get asked all types of random stuff," he said with smile. "The craziest (question) was if I was going to Boston." Davis meant it as a joke, but he acknowledged that it was hard to ignore the amount of trade rumors this summer that have speculated about his potential departure from New Orleans.

quote:

"I understand it's a business, but if I don't hear anything from Dell or my agent, I don't pay attention to it," said Davis, who averaged 28 points and 11.8 rebounds in 2016-17. "Once I first heard (the rumors), then I heard it again, then I heard it again, I just wanted to make sure. I found out it wasn't (true), and that was the beginning of the summer, so I haven't paid attention to it since."

quote:

"I am happy here as a Pelican," he said. "I am happy here."

I hope he stays here forever, but that's obviously a pipe dream if we can't generate or sustain any success.

yeah saw that, all that noise was so stupid.

no chance AD would be dealt in the next two or three seasons, and if he ever is, its because the experiment failed and the amount picks and players we'd get for him would be well worth it for a rebuild.

You don't think that if we somehow lost Boogie that we wouldn't explore the idea of trading him next offseason?

I agree trading him this summer or this season at all is insane. But I can certainly imagine a scenario where we trade him next offseason if this AD/DC experiment completely blows up in our face.

That was mostly noise from the Boston camp to assure fans they'll eventually make a splash with all of those assets they're sitting on

I don't think they'd do this.

I guess it really depends on who would come in as the new GM, though.

IF Boogie leaves, that means we're also firing Gentry and Dell like you implied. Which means we're starting over again. And I just don't think we'd have time to convince him to stay at that point. If his close friend leaves, why would AD want to stay? We might as well trade him when we can get the most value for him instead of waiting a few years while we lose leverage.

I don't understand how having a top 10 player in the league is considered an experiment. The fact that we haven't been able to build a team around him all falls on Dell. This whole "process" has taken far to long, and if we can't make it happen this year I say blow the whole thing up.

NOLA wants really hard to be a basketball city. You can see it when we did make it to the playoffs a few years ago. Win and the crowds come. Its been a disappointing stretch the last couple of years.

If it's bad enough that he wants out, chances are that we aren't getting shite for a return anyway.

The SKC was rocking for that Spurs game (last game of the season that determined whether or not the Pels made the playoffs).

That was a good time for sure. Hopefully, they can get the train back on the track this season. I'm really optimistic.

I can't think of a top 10 player outside of Lebron who has had success b/t the ages of 20-24.

I mean, you could include GOATbrook/Harden too.

The guys that each played with 2 other top 10 players?
