Let's fill this thread with potential SF targets with out second round pick in this year's draft. Someone else can start a thread for other positions if they so choose. I'll start it off with a prospect that I like and you guys chime in with the prospects that you like and why.

Michael Qualls - G/F Arkansas
6'5, 7'0 wingspan
I have seen this guy play several times and although he is only 6'5, I could see him develop into a solid SF years down the line. He has the length and athleticism to defend very well at the next level. He is an amazing leaper and rebounds at an extraordinary level. He needs to develop more of an outside game and hone in on his defensive ability to really be successful at the next level, but the tools are there. Proper coaching and a little time to develop and we could have a potential starter at the SF position.

Tyreke size without concrete feet? I could get down with spending a first on Qualls

Draft Express has us taking Nadim Buza. He has a nice stroke and good size. Like a lot of euro forwards, defense is a question.

Would be worth #56 in my opinion.

The more I think about it, the more I want Lebryan Nash. I think he'll be there or go undrafted. He would thrive in an uptempo offense.

I did a piece on this yesterday. Basically, I looked at the last nine drafts and every guy who became a rotation player after number 50 to see if there were some commonalities. There were.

Long story short, the SF's in this draft that fit the profile and who are projected to go late 2nd are:

Qualls (if you think he can play 3)
Darrun Hilliard from Villanova
Branden Dawson, who is a 3/4

Hilliard was the only pure 3 who matched the profile. Shot 40% from 3 on 5 attempts per game over the last two years. But he doesn't rebound a lick and needs to put on weight.

no thank you.
I'm tired of athletic guys that can't shoot. I'd rather Cunningham

I would not mind taking him at all.

pretty worthless pick, not that any other pick at 56 will be anything but worthless most likely.

PAT CONNAUGHTON
This is who i would like to pick, if not Darrun.

a ham sandwich is worth #56...
there is so little chance that anyone taken there will make the team, that you may as well throw a dart

The last 9 drafts have yielded 11 rotation players from picks 51-60, so you have about a 12% chance of getting one. Basically, there is one every year outside of 2008. Unlikely, but possible.

Erman is a good scout too IIRC

He(or even gentry) might see some guy they like.

Is 12% of a ham sandwich even a full bite?

It's 100% of a ham sandwich, if you choose the right bag it's inside of.

Qualls tore his ACL in a workout, so he's probably out of contention.

The guy I would suggest: JP Tokoto. Good size and athleticism. Good passer. Good feel for the game. If he ever figures out how to shoot, he could be a solid 3 and D guy with a sprinkle of secondary ball handling.

Interesting prospect

He reminds me of Iggy when he was younger. I could see gentry/Erman being very interested.
