The 76ers, according to a source, were not as enamored with the Pelicans offer as maybe it seemed. Sources close to the situation are saying the 76ers wanted guard Jrue Holiday in an Okafor deal instead of the draft pick. Both sides are said to be continuing the dialogue, and now that the talks are out in the open, there will be some urgency to either complete the deal or move on.

Keith Pompey: Jahlil Okafor days in the 76ers are numbered. I’m not 100 percent sure if it’s going to be the New Orleans Pelicans or if it’s going to be the Chicago Bulls. I do know a lot of teams are interested in him.

Chris Mannix: The 76ers value Jahlil Okafor pretty high, and I’m not sure that other teams in the league place that kind of value on him at the moment.

The 76ers value Okafor so highly that his game log is littered with DNP-CDs over the last month. I mean, come on...

They really are doing their best to up his value but everyone knows he has no place on that team long term.

Ok. They want Jrue. Well, they can have Jrue, Asik, and Ajinca

for

Okafor, a 2017 1st round pick, and a 2018 2nd round pick

The Pelicans have a core peice. They don't need to let Jrue go.

The sixers are stupid for even asking. They can give us Simmons for Holiday and Ajinca.

There's no guarantee that Jrue will resign with the Pels this offseason. I think Jrue will look around very hard to get out of this hell hole. If someone wants to trade for him now and we can get value in return, we should entertain it.

the only way they are getting Jrue is if we get back their 1st round pick, Ben Simmons, or Joel Embiid, and they aren't doing that, so there's nothing to see here anymore.

We should max him out and be done with it. If they let him go then the team is basically doomed. It takes forever to collect solid pieces and we take a huge step back losing our second big player.

I'd be fine with that trade to be honest. Jrue isn't resigning IMO and it helps us tank. Y'all would rather us trade a future pick for Oak and then Jrue walks for nothing? Don't understand the complaints in this thread.

Well considering that Demps got Fleeced during the Holiday trade, it's only natural that they'd attempt to fleece Demps again.

I refuse to believe that we can't get a first round pick from someone for Jrue. But to give up a first round pick, and Jrue, to get back a cheap bench player that is statistically the worst defensive player the league, that's just stupid.

We are talking about the guy who signed Asik to a 5 yr $60M deal

The Pels have the dumbest front office in the league if we won't max out one of our stars like Holiday, but we will over pay for a bunch of role players.

I understand not wanting to pay big money to Anderson and Gordon. Anderson was not complimentary to Davis and not a very good defender. Gordon is basically only a shooter and not worth big money.

Jrue is a couple of years younger than both of them and is an athletic two player player that can play point guard or off ball. Holiday will not turn down a big pay day with the Pels.

And you don't think he'll command that from any other team in the NBA that are competitively better than the Pels?

I'm sorry, Demps and Gentry have lost me. I don't see them turning this shite around while they are in charge. I'm sure even though it's likely unvoiced there are players on the roster that feels the same way. Once you have your money stacked to a certain point, you get tired of losing and want to win.

throw in their 1st, top 5 protected, and we have a deal. find a suitor for Tyreke/Jones for a late to mid 1st, and now we have three young pieces, and a draft of talent to build this damn thing right.

we are screwed with Asik...
