it is what it is.

Will we ever be better than .500 and I use .500 loosely because I don't even know if we can finish at .500.

not as long as the SW division is the most dominant in sports. if SA drops off in a year or two when the old guys retire, pels may move above .500

FWIW, Pels have had the 7th hardest SOS in the league and the hardest in the division. it will get easier after december

there will be no excuse come February if they aren't above .500. also played like 4 more road games than at home. so it's good to be around .500 with that in mind. need to go 2-1 in this 3 game home stand.

I see people hating the excuses here but I don't think you need one. If this team that we have assembled finishes with 42 wins, I think it is a successful year. I can easily name 8 teams in the west that are better.
Spurs
Clips
Warriors
Portland
Memphis
Dallas
Houston (when healthy)
OKC (should be back with KD)

I'll clarify then. Houston is much better than we are now and will be even further ahead of us when they are healthy.

My OP on Dec 11. What an up and down year so far. Win one lose one. So damn aggravating

If this team can finish the year at .500, I'd be impressed and Monty should keep his job.

In no way should monty keep his job ... unless he gets us to the 2nd round ... then he will have earned his job another season

Looks like progress to me. The Pelicans haven't been .500 in four years.
