Why don’t these numbers equal 100? What else is the rest?

Just because he’s on the floor doesn’t mean the offense has to run through him.

Brandon disagrees with you, and that's the problem.

That's what pisses me off most about BI. We know he CAN do it. We've seen it before. He just doesn't WANT to do it.

Yes

And when we make the playoffs and he tries to play iso/hero ball, we learn that he's not athletic enough to really be elite at this style.

The part that is frustrating is that he can get shots off (and make them) that 90%+ of other players cannot. He does have an elite midrange game and can hit them contested.

The problem is that this isn't winning basketball, and in the playoffs this style gets exposed due to the higher level of defense and intensity.

This board is full of chicken littles. Holy shite, a touch of perspective goes a long way.

3 to 10 ft

In 2024 that shot makes up 16% of his shots, in 2019 it was 13% of his shots

His offense is so high risk low reward. Living off high difficulty contested midrange shots is awful offense. Like he works so hard to get off the worst shot in basketball. Step back a couple feet for god's sake and at least if you make it you get 3 points instead of 2. It's simple math, this shite ain't that hard

You use a little force against BI and it changes his rhythm. An interviewer asked him how will he adjust to it. He responded “I’ll be ready. Let him do it.” Let’s see how he does next game.

Not a superstar.

He completely disappeared in crunch time.

He was invisible in the moment you needed him the most.

I've tried to explain this and what has gone down this season, it caused a couple of posters to have legit meltdowns.

BI’s shot chart in 2019 (1st year with the Pels) vs 2024, this season:

24: 47% mid - 14% rim - 23% three
19: 27% - 25% - 35%

If you could take the skills of current BI, & have him take the shot selection of 2019 BI, what type of player would he be?
Yep, nailed it.

I've posted a few times but it always bears repeating...the % of shots BI took at the rim in his Lakers career was 33.3%. With the Pels, that number is 16.5%

BI's final 2 years with the Lakers he took 37.5% then 34% of his shots at the rim. Then with the Pels, that number has plummeted to by year: 24.8/14.4/14.0/13.5/14.7%

That's 4 years of pretty remarkable consistency. He is who he is now, a dude that will take 14% of his shots at the rim instead of roughly 35%, the dude we thought we were getting.
