Probably the low point of Ringo's career post-Beatles. He was drinking heavily at this time, though.

This was a big hit for Ringo in 73/74. A lot of people who think they know music assume Ringo's solo career was a big joke. The truth is that he enjoyed several Top 10 hits during the early 70's, and was the only one to get all of the former Beatles together on one album.

I love that song, but the 60's and 70's went through a bizarre era of underage creepiness. I suppose with this particular song, it's not entirely clear if the singer is underaged too.

Lots of young girl songs in the era. They would not fly today. Seems half of Conway Twitty songs are about young poon or taking a girls virginity.

He had Harrison helping him immensely, along with Lennon, members of The Band, Nilsson, and Billy Preston. If he hadn't have wasted so much time with his acting, he could've used his connections to have a massive solo career.
