Nope. I thought it was merely good as well. But I'm not quite the Dr. Dog fan as lots of people on the board are.

Purity Ring is great! I saw them open up for Neon Indian earlier this year, and was quite taken with their live performance. Downloaded their early singles and had been looking forward to the new album, and it does not disappoint!

One of the three bands I'd bring to a stranded island. I love them so much.

She gets a bad rap for being kind of fabricated, and then there's the whole SNL debacle, but her album is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Why so long from now? Innerspeaker was the soundtrack to my summer in 2010

I bought 4 2012 albums last night (Dirty Projectors, Twin Shadow, The Men, and Father John Misty), so this top 5 could change soon.

two weeks later and i am digging all these albums. i could see all contending for my year-end top ten. plus the little of i've heard of the new purity ring and passion pit sounds good. throw in some the heavy hitters coming up in the next few months and 2012 is looking pretty good.

The Japandroids album rocked my face off.

It deserves inclusion in my top 5, but I don't know who to bump out of my existing top 5, so I'm just gonna have to break the rules and give ya a six pack in no particular order:

Passion Pit -- Gossamer
Edward Sharpe & Magnetic Zeros -- Here
Metric -- Synthetic
Santigold -- Master of my make believe
Beach House -- Bloom
Japandroids -- Celebration Rock

Honorable mention:
B.o.B -- Strange Clouds
John Mayer -- born and raised
Jack White -- Blunderbuss
