Your top 10 bands that never got the proper due...

Of course, these bands are huge in their own right, but the airplay/videos and just overall fame are lacking, yet all deserving. Give me your best 10 that chances are, not much of the general public know about:
1. King's X
2. Husker Du
3. The Church
4. Deconstruction (never played a live show; Dave Navarro and Eric Avery project...better than any Jane's album).
5. Comstat Angels
6. Swervedriver
7. The Sound
8. Killing Joke
9. Chapterhouse
10. Shark Island (had to throw an 80's hair band in).
Again, millions love most of these. However, many more do not know the names of these artists. It's a shame, but makes the lover I have for them even greater.

I listen to mostly country music, but if we are talking non-country, then Im going with Arctic Monkeys, Haim, and Paulo Nutini.

Dave's playing is great on there but it is hard to listen to it and hear Dave's style playing and not Perry singing.

The bassist produced Peter Murphy's last album about a year ago. Actually Peter Murphy should be on that list but I know he isn't for everybody.

1. John Frusciante - I don't think I have to explain this one.
2. Built to Spill - Popular, but this band should be as popular as a band like Radiohead.
3. Cloud Cult
4. Quiet Company - Austin band that I feel should have been way more popular than they are when they released We Are Where We Belong, one of the best albums of the last decade IMO.
4. Black Pistol Fire - Another Austin band. I think they are the perfect blend of Black Keys and Jack White.
5. Beirut - The first 3 albums are masterpieces
6. The Sheepdogs - They should be as big as Alabama Shakes, but somehow are not.
7. Dax Riggs
Can't think of 3 more right now...

I think Husker Du got about what they deserve, and I am a fan. Mould's solo stuff and Sugar may be underappreciated though.

1. Supagroup - Hard rock band from NOLA; right sound for the wrong time period. If they had been around in the late 70s / early 80s they would have been way more successful.
2. Tad - Underrated grunge band. All killer, no filler.
3. Trouble - Chicago based metal band. Excellent stuff.
4. Ian Moore - Should be a household name if raw talent were justly rewarded in music.
5. Meat Puppets - More inventive and mind-blowing than most of the alt-rock success stories of the 90s goldrush era.
6. Midnight Idols - Badass metal band. Go find the Sworn To The Night album if power metal is your thing.
7. Pat Travers - Really inventive hard rock in his glory days (late 70s).
8. The Only Ones - Great old new wavey rock band. "Another Girl, Another Planet" is their claim to fame but all their stuff is awesome.
9. The Producers - Should have been bigger. Super catchy music across the board.
10. Guided By Voices - I know why they weren't popular, but still think they should be given more recognition.

Not sure if serious.
They could very well be considered the last "major" popular hard rock band. By that I mean that they crossed over from the hard rock, nu metal/rap metal into "popular" music culture more so than any "alternative" band since nirvana.
They were from the same nu metal scene as bands like Soulfly, Korn, Deftone, etc. but they were MTV TRL staples for Years.

I guess someone should mention Big Star. They are pretty much the standard bearer for being undervalued in their time.
