So, anyone been here and sat in the lawn section? How far removed is it from the stage. Looking at going to NIN/Soundgarden in August and these are the only tickets currently available on the TM.

It's kind of far back since they added more reserved seats during the renovations following the Hurricane Ike damage. If you get there really earlier and can get to near the front of the lawn you'll be alright.

I've ponied up stubhub prices before to avoid the lawn, though.

Exactly what I'm gonna do if I hear more feedback like that.

I sat on the lawn for Radiohead in 2008. We had a group of around 20 people so it just made sense. It wasn't too bad, but I'd go for pav if you have a small group.

The lawn/hill is a ways back there.

I have not been since renovation. Also depending on time of show remember you are in Houston in August. There is not one damned bit of shade on that lawn.

I would avoid the lawn unless you are just a casual fan of the band playing as it is a pretty good ways off to really feel any band/crown interaction. I would only do it if there were 5 or more of us going anyways. I have seen 2 shows there both in the front middle section and pitied the folks on the lawn Both of the shows were August/September and it was HOT as hell. Sound at the Pavillion is fantastic.
