Why is Aaron Lewis getting no traction in country radio?

I really liked the guys sound with Staind back in my high school rock emo days. Will still listen to it whenever it comes on the radio.
Lewis' country from the few songs I've heard sounds great. Like good old school country but I never hear him unless it's on Sirius XM it seems- on the Highway- which is like country alternative

He hates bro country. LINK
I think most of his fans today are just old Staind fans. Modern country fans see him as that guy from Staind. He doesn't have the necessary country street cred.

He has a point though, you know. That shite ain't country.
I'm an old Staind fan but I'd put his voice up there with just about anybody else. He is about as close to outlaw country as you get for mainstream besides the fringes like Hank3, etc.

He will always be the Staind guy.
Hates everything that is on country radio right now so will never get air time.
He's too old, and ugly as frick.
Will possibly say shite as out there as Hank Jr. or Ted Nugent, but can not get an old man pass.
His fans as mentioned will always be old Staind fans. His acoustic sets are all over the place with his stuff, Staind stuff, and covers. What do country fans do while he is playing Tool acoustic?

His voice is still really really really good. I wouldn't consider him much of a country artist, but the guy can still be a very good musician IMO.

1. No hat
2. No buckle
3. No guns
4. No twang
Talent is irrelevant to "modern" country music. It's as formulaic and trope ridden as hip-hop, boy bands and princess pop. A relatively homogenized "product" compared to the wide variety of country artists from the golden age through the early 1980s.

You hear him speak?
All about guns?
On a scale of "1 to Ted Nugent" he's probably a 5. Which is still up there.

With his "Don't tread of me" tats and his stereotypical, grizzled 'country' look, he's just as douchey as any bro country a-hole.

I meant, he doesn't roid up and roll the sleeves up to show his guns.

I downloaded his album after listening to a short preview of all of the song on it. I like it, but it's just not quite good enough for all the "country radio stations" to pick up on. Between him, luke combs, and chris stapleton, I've got enough to get myself to and from work 5 days a week without having to listen to the new "country" crap that's on the radio.

Because he's trying too hard.

You should add some Sturgil and isbell.

Aaron Lewis shouldn't be mentioned anywhere close to those guys.
I hated that butt rock band Staind, and his "country" music is cringeworthy try-hard music.

I like everything he's put out. Doesn't try to bro country and gets no love from the Nashville elite. He'll continue to pave a way once the bro country shite dies off.

His country music is terrible imo.

guy from Massachusetts calls out people for not being "real country"
