Who uses wireless guitar systems?

Shure, Line6 etc? I'm looking for recommendations on any of them. Ready to go wireless because I need to get my groove on up on that stage.

Either go big or go home on these no matter the make. I was a live engineer for many years working with a variety of different acts and venue residencies. Some players would come in with some entry level crap that may or may not be consistent throughout the show. I would always plead with them to wire up to wire up and invariably they didn't listen and there would be issues. So many things can cause interference and issues might not present themselves at sound check but would arise during the show. Loads of fun.
Both seinheiser and shure make good systems but if you aren't prepared to drop $700-$1000 at the very minimum, it really isnt worth the worry in my opinion.
If you just want to roam around the house or rehearsal unit dicking off that's fine, but if you plan on doing this in front of others, drop the cash or stay cabled.

Damn!
Sounds like you talking to somebody thinking about getting an Invicta.

Well, sounds like I'm stuck cabled. I really wish I could get a wireless guitar and wireless headset mic setup for cheap...and a mixer...and a PA system...and a pedelboard...and monitors...and lights...and multi-track recording hardware...and recording software...and the ability to get all 4 members of my band in a room at the same time to practice...

Guess I'm out. I was leaning to do the $299 Shure but that makes my mind up.

With my last band, I gigged 2-3 nights weekly with a Shure PGX4 system with no dropouts, interference, obvious signal degradation or any issues whatsoever. At least no complaints from me, band mates or FOH. I sold it when I threw in the gigging towel but if I started gigging again, I'd buy the same unit I had in a heartbeat.
Tip: Buy a spare transmitter cable to have as a back-up. Transmitter cables take the most punishment in the wireless chain and they are quite often the source of problems like the soundguy above cited. The PGX transmitter has a detachable quick-swap cable in anticipation of this (ingenious). Shure also sells separately right-angle plugs for that unit's transmitter. Great if you have a side-mount output jack like on a Les Paul or PRS.

I got a small Nady system. Doesn't work for crap.
Maybe the shure one is better!

The PGX was a decided step up over the PG at the same price point. Everyone's mileage varies. I just have had too many horror stories with wireless and with a guitar it's not like you can quick switch on the fly to a prewired backup vocal mic. It's a showstopper.

Well you can go to wired in a heartbeat I think. At least only 1/4th of a song. I was thinking of using a wireless and having my cord onstage next to the amp.

Sure you can absolutely switch if you have to. It's all about what's acceptable to you.
I really hope I haven't come across as a pretentious prick about this it's just that, for me, anything that couldn't work 99.99% wouldn't be an option. A guitar cutting out and switching cables mid song is not acceptable, for me.
It's all about what you want to it be. I don't want to discourage you from doing your thing and the other guy is right, a $300 Shure PGX unit would probably be ok most of the time. If it's not the end of the world to have an issue from time to time, go for it. If that's a risk you can't take for whatever reason, stay with the most reliable option until you can throw enough money at the problem to ensure the same level of reliability.
