Sounds like something a hipster would say!

It irks me you just won't say REM the IRS years. You have to say pre-Document b/c that's about when they got big.

I'm going to assume favorite band as in you can listen to every single song they've made without skipping to the "hits"
With that, I'm going with
Disturbed
Breaking Benjamin
Evanescence

Difficult to choose just one.
Currently: My Morning Jacket
First favorite: Pink Floyd
My full list:
Pink Floyd
Ministry
Nine Inch Nails
Jane's Addiction
Tool
Smashing Pumpkins
My Morning Jacket
You can probably tell by that list when I was a teenager

For me, it was "Shiny Happy People" that was the absolute deal breaker. I actually liked everything through the Green album. Except for "Orange Crush" maybe.

Out Of Time was definitely the line in the sand. It was every newbie fan's little talisman at that time and I couldn't jump ship fast enough. There were the old schoolers on one side and the new fans on the other side who thought the IRS stuff was too "thinky".

I may have two Post Life's Rich Pageant songs on my phone. Texarkana for sure, which could easily have come from the good years, and Crush With Eyeliner.

These guys have been my favorite for a few years now. Bought the waterfall on vinyl, butnstill waiting on my turn table to come in.
All time has to be Bob Dylan or Zepplin.

Coheed and Cambria.
Love finding fellow Children of the Fence. Such an unbelievable and unique group. They really are one-of-a-kind band, and people write them off way too quickly.
The intricacies in both the music and lyrics is nothing shy of amazing to me

Quite possibly their best song. Way underrated by REM snobs.
