I love the writing, the music is amazing, and the deeper meaning of the Amory Wars is mind blowing!

And for my amateur ears, in all my life, I've never heard the kind of music that this group plays.

I'll say Steely Dan for much the same reason. But I'll give Floyd and ABB honorable mention.

Claudio does such a great job relating his writing to the comics, his own life and the lives of his fans. Really nothing like it

These guys have been my favorite for a few years now. Bought the waterfall on vinyl, butnstill waiting on my turn table to come in.

My friend turned me onto them when Okonokos dvd was released. He loaned it to me and I was instantly hooked. They have been my new favorite since that moment.

Steam Engine is my all-time favorite song. Such brilliance

Waterfall is a great album. Saw them last summer and they played a good bit from it, sounded awesome.

Quite possibly their best song. Way underrated by REM snobs.

Yeah, it is a bit of a bugaboo, this whole thing of liking something vs. disliking something and how that applies to imagined strategic motivations. It's just never as simple as it seems.

What's a good starting point for these guys? Sounds like something I would dig...

Yes! While I don't find any one great song off of it, it's a great record as a whole. I love it. Compared to the previous one, "Circuital," which was ok overall but had two of their best written songs of their catalog "Victory Dance" and "Circuital," I much prefer Waterfall.

I am flying to see them at the Red Rocks in May. It's a 2 night show. I did it last time as well back in '12. They are incredible live

Maybe that's because you don't know what pre- and post mean

I remember that thread now. Just say post IRS vs pre Warner.
