I will say he's been living off his reputation for the last 30 years. When Clapton was with Cream, he and Hendrix are the only 2 guys I've ever seen who could fill a stadium with sound in a 3 man band! That's no small feat.

i have always thought it was impossible to rank guitarists. you tell me, was jimi hendrix better than buddy guy, is buddy guy better than stevie ray vaughn, is stevie ray vaughn better than eric clapton , and on and on.. i think i have a favorite, that being stevie ray vaughn , but was he the greatest ? i can't say.
