I know bands evolve either a) during their artistic development or b) to remain commercially viable, but the downfall of Incubus was pretty steady.

While Fungus Amongus was definitely more grungy than when they made it big, it is a very entertaining album. In my opinion, they peaked with S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and then Make Yourself. Morning View is good but only set themselves up for the abomination that was A Crow Left of the Murder.

I admit that I would have grown out of Incubus anyways since I was in middle school and high school during their peak, but I used to really listen to SCIENCE, Make Yourself Morning View. I can go back and listen to those now and still like them.

What happened? Does anyone still like them? I stopped following them after a Crow Left of The Murder. Have they done anything to redeem themselves?

Brandon Boyd always had a good voice (nohomo) and they had good guitar and production.

Just wondering what other people thought.

I still enjoy them, and while I agree they certainly evolved and changed over time, I didn't stop enjoying what they put out...

I do prefer the older albums, but the new ones are still good. Make Yourself & Morning View has to be in my top albums. I can listen to those CD's on repeat all day/everyday and never get sick of em

Yeah Morning View is the tits. The only songs they have come out with since then that I like are Dig & Adolescents, even though they sound like old Incubus songs rehashed.

Just looked at their Wiki page...formed in 1991

Abomination? That's a little harsh. They've evolved quite a bit and I like all of their stages. Incubus Alive at Red Rocks, the DVD they filmed touring for that album, is amazing.

I was huge into Incubus. Listened to them 24/7 almost.

But I think with ACLOTM they decided to add a political theme and their music just seemed a little more pretentious in general. I got turned off quick.

Pretentiously bad lyricist.

Knowing this, why do I defy?
Because my inner voice is yelling
There is a fist pressing against
anyone who thinks something compelling
Our intuit we're taught to deny
And our soul we're told is for selling

No, but linkin park is generic corporate assembled radio rap rock.

Yeah, I didn't really respond to their last two albums. Actually, I liked about half of Light Grenades, but I didn't like their last one at all. Sure they've evolved, but old Incubus was delightfully primitive which is why I liked them.

Morning View is probably one of my favorite albums of all time. I was pretty spoiled by it as a teenager.

Pardon Me was my absolute favorite song in high school, if I ever had to do karaoke it's my go to song. That, or Regulate.

I truly believe Incubus is a band like many others (311, Blink-182, etc.) that have a 4 year shelf life. Those 4 years being when you are in high school and listen to them. They will always have fans because they are always going to be high school kids.

Make Yourself and Morning View are great. ACLOM is meh, and Light Grenades was okay.

If not now, when? sucks. I think they're done making music that'll please old school incubus fans

couldn't even listen to Adolescents when I heard on xm for the first time - really disappointed cuz I too was a huge fan - seen them live at least 10 times all from '97-'02ish
