Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Jimi Hendrix - Axis: Bold as Love
Allman Bros - Live at the Fillmore
The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
John Mayer - Continuum (Live in LA is another with extremely high replay value)
Sturgill Simpson - Metamodern Sounds in Country Music
Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker
BB King - Live at the Regal

Most recent would be Sufjan Stevens - Carrie and Lowell

A bunch, but off the top of my head:

Pink Floyd - Animals (their best record imo and highly unappreciated)

Tool - Aenima

Natalie Merchant - Ophelia (This is an incredible record)

From what I've read, they tried to make an album that didn't totally consume them. They also took a lot of time away from the band and just kind of wrote stuff from different places, then came together and recorded it. Frankly, I enjoy of lot of stuff that Dan the Automator works on, but he was just an awful fit to produce a dredg album.

I still hold out hope that they'll get the itch again and decide to go out on a high note as opposed to the low note that is Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy. Gavin is a family man now and Drew seems to be focusing on painting more than anything, so it probably won't happen.
