What happened to Incubus?

It seemed like in the early 2000's these guys were unstoppable. They got a little political with "a crow left of the murder", but then bounced back with a really good album. What the hell happened after that?

While I still liked "Crow", "Light Grenades" & "If Not Now".....things really changed after Dirk Lance left. Ben Kinney is a good bassist but they didn't really feel much like "Incubus" after Dirk left.

It certainly seems that way.

Saw them last year at Champions Square. Plenty of people still remember them.

I still listen to them somewhat regularly and play their stuff on guitar.

I really like "Absolution Calling" and "Trust Fall" off their newest EP Trust Fall Side A.
They played Absolution Calling at the Champs Square concert. Sounded smooth as frick.
Considering they released the 4 track EP over a year ago, I'm not sure when to expect a new album or not.

Make Yourself and Morning View were great albums. If you were growing up around when those were released, their songs were on the radio regularly.

Never liked Incubus. Whenever I hear them or Oasis or Bush or Nickelback on the radio, I change the station.

As with many bands, the age demographic of their listeners grew up and stopped listening. Then at that point the band was too old to connect with the young crowd anymore.
I'm sure there are hundreds of bands out there right now that are massive hits with 15-25 year olds that pepole are going to forget in 10 years.

My wife said a friend of ours sent to see then there, I said "Why? Is she related to one of them?"
But I still listen to Taking Back Sunday from time to time so I am not the arbiter of good taste.

Saw them at the Varsity in early 1999. Good show, but nothing stuck out about them. And they reminded me of a band that wished they were The Deftones and tried too hard not to be Fred Durst-like.
Today, I do not listen to anything by them...not even "The Warmth".

Hard for any band to stay big, Incubus is no exception especially when band members leave...
