Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie announces he has terminal cancer

One of my favorite bands of all time. Announcement says they are touiring once more, those shows will be very emotional.

As a middle aged canuck its the music of our life. I connected the hip later because I was living in LA from 86 to 99, so it was really right at their peak. They never got a lot of US airplay but friends and family gave me tapes and CDs and I listened that way. Now my son is a big fan and it will not be a good day for him. Prayers to him and his family and friends... btw his wife is a breast cancer survivor as well so as said earlier cancer sucks
