Well I'm glad you proved like most phish fans you're totally open minded and not pretentious at all.
And I listened to those 2 links. If that's the greatest hits highlight real of phish then that's just bad. Nothing special or elite or great about those. They were OK at best. For the most part it was a few guys playing their instruments at the same time although rarely together or in sync. Sometimes they obviously were out of key and sync and it just sounded bad. They aren't even an impressive jam band. It's not like a bunch of elite musicians having a good time that was like listening to a bunch of mediocre dudes with little practice jam in a garage while their fricked up friend played with the light switches.

He may not fit your prototypical guitarist, but to deny that man's talent is ludicrous. If you think that he couldn't play the guitar at a ridiculously high level without contorting it into noises, I think you'd be mistaken. One man's opinion.

They're not even one of the great jam bands. They're mediocre garage noise at best.
