Listing any Bruce Springsteen album anywhere on a "1op 10 all time" list, let alone number one, is ridiculously laughable.

I know it's cool among the young crowd to shite all over Springsteen, but the vast majority of music listeners recognize Born to Run as a great album.

I personally found Darkness on the Edge of Town superior to BTR.
Nevertheless, BTR was, to coin a horrid cliché phrase, a game changer.

Definitely shouldn't be first - shouldn't be on this list, at all.
Ditto for anything by the Dead.
Amazing that Pearl Jam - (certainly that's supposed to be Ten, right?) - is ahead of Nirvana - Nevermind - which at least has an argument for this list.
LZ Runes/IV/ZOSO deserves consideration - as does I, II and III. I like House of the Holy, but The Crunge, almost warrants its exclusion from consideration, as I think that is the worst LZ song OF ALL TIME.
Pink Floyd - DSOM is seminal - the epitome of the concept album. I think it deserves consideration, as well.

London Calling is flat out better and probably higher on the list at 2 or 3.
It's cliche now but I'd put Nevermind over Ten. Take Grateful Dead out and put in Back in Black or Exile on Main Street. Not bad otherwise. (I'd choose 2 or 3 other Zepplin's but I'm not going to complain bout Houses).

Not a terrible list. I don't really have a problem with 1-3, wrong Clash album, Pearl Jam - nah. And I like the Dead and Working Man's dead is a good album but it doesn't belong anywhere near a top 8 GOAT list.

Wow - how did I miss this the first time around.
Actually - you're both wrong.
Pyromania was the best - the epitome of Def Leppard. There is little question those are the 3 best - High n' Dry was still a little raw and edgy, but with much better songs than the debut (On Through the Night). They had replaced drunk Tom Allom with Mutt Lange as producer - and he was the primary producer for the 3 great Leppard albums. High n' Dry featured Steve Clark and Pete Willis on co-lead guitar, with Clark doing most of the lead work.
The sound was polished further for Pyromania - and Pete Willis had been replaced by "Girl" guitarist Phil Collen (not to be confused with the multi-instrumentalist and drummer from Genesis, Phil Collins) - the album featured even better songs than High n' Dry, overall, but had lost a little of the edge.
The final transition to a more radio friendly hard rock with strong pop sensibilities was made with Hysteria. Although I'm fond of the opening track (Women), the title track and few others, Sugar is a guilty pleasure for me - it is a catchy as hell song (effectively, they ripped off Joan Jett's "I Love Rock and Roll", itself a cover), but a shame that it is the signature song for the boys from Sheffield. Going back and listening to Switch 625, Die Hard the Hunter, Gods of War, or even, White Lightning or Paper Sun from post-Hysteria albums and it is impossible to ignore this band's giant talent and legitimate heavy music chops.
But they'll always be considered "soft" or girly because they went with a more melodic or accessible sound as they hit the big time. And that is a shame.
The band that made Pyromania - for my money, the greatest album in history - deserves more.

No idea how anyone could think Led Zeppelin I isn't their best album.
