These two are my favorites. Seven Spanish angels is right behind though!

Uncloudy Day is the GOAT Willie song. His standards classics are fantastic but this one ranks at the top for me.

Sad Songs and Waltzes is an under the radar classic. Cake did a great cover as well.
They All Went To Mexico - with Carlos Santana
Nothing I can Do About It Now
My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
All The Soft Places to Fall - with Merle Haggard
So many great ones, all picks are subject to change.
Bonus track: Slow Movin' Outlaw - with Lacy J. Dalton

Red-Headed Stranger is the answer to me, because it’s pretty much one song. The covers are woven brilliantly into Willie’s tunes so that the whole is a masterpiece of parts. “Remember Me” (a cover) is probably my favorite on the album, because of its resonance to some events at the time.
To me, his prettiest song (if Willie and pretty can co-exist) is Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground. And his signature guitar sound, with its tone & just-a-tad-off timing, is showcased beautifully on the Stardust album; wonderfully produced, by the way.
Another favorite song I haven’t seen mentioned is “The Sound In Your Mind”; especially for the line that’s one of the best ever:
“You’re not hard to remember; I just have to think of your name”; in context, a classic kiss-off song.
And for plain fun: Shotgun Willie, Me & Paul, The Party’s Over.

I heard someone years ago talking about how Willie is really a jazz style singer. He stays behind the beat and around it. Very similar to the way Sinatra phrased his songs. Coupled with his guitar style which is similar timing wise and the tone, it just makes for great music. Genius really.
