Ok, I fired it up, and I feel like I ought to be firing one up as well in order to truly understand what is going on in this album. This is my first exposure to Thundercat, and my initial reaction is, "What the frick is pouring into my ears right now?" However, having said that, I like it. Very groove-worthy. Just not what I was expecting. Shades of Captain Beefheart, Miles Davis, Sean Lennon... a very bizarre and unique sound.
