Unbelievable performance when you think about the setting. Roger Daltrey said it was his most emotional night ever on stage. The WTC was still smoldering 3 miles away. Kids wearing their dad's police and fireman hats. People holding up portraits of people who died. The Who brought it for a city that needed it. One of the best sets in rock history.

Thank you. What a great watch. What today’s artists don’t get. Inspiring. To think that the ox would be gone less than a year later.

They stole the show. It was I believe John Entwistle’s last performance with The Who. I have the video you’re referring to in my YT favorites.

They don’t get timeless powerful anthems. When this generation of musicians in the next 10 years begin to die away, there will be a void. What artist will fill that? Who are this generations who, stones, zeppelin, buffet, etc?

These guys were the pinnacle of western culture. It’s been all downhill since then.

This was about 5 weeks after 9/11. You can see what an emotional release it was for the audience. People were going wild. I still can't watch all the pictures being held up during Behind Blue Eyes without tearing up a little bit.

I saw that show live, hadn’t seen the Who in years beforehand. That show was largely a sad downer, James Taylor Fire and Rain, etc etc.

Then kaboom! The Who blow the freaking roof off and tore it up. It got me into a Who trip for years to follow.

Thanks for the link and the reminder of a great moment in rock history

I don't know if I agree with that.

Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Jay Z, etc.? Just because you don't like the exact form doesn't mean it's not there.
