The Doors aren't even the best band with contributions from Ray Manzarek (that would be X). Man, I hate the Doors. Well, that's not ture. I hate Jim Morrisson. I got nothing against the other guys.

I like X but The Doors were the better band.
But I freely admit Mr. Mojo Risin's pretensions can get exceedingly tiresome.
Anyone here ever read this? Or even heard of it?
I used to have a copy. I wonder whatever happened to it -- it goes for around 70 bucks now...

I love The Doors. Their debut album and LA Woman are masterpieces, but very different.

LA Woman is such an overlooked album, love how bluesy it is. Riders on the Storm and LA Woman are great songs but Changeling, Been Down So Long, Hyacinth House, Cars Hiss By My Window, Crawling King Snake are all fantastic songs.

Comedian Matt Braunger on Jim Morrison - 2 min, 2nd minute is the best
ETA - I am a fan of the Doors, just laughed at this when I heard it a few years ago.

Yeah, it must be quite exhausting to spend energy on "hating" someone who has been dead for 40 years. I used to listen to Morrison while he was still alive. I can't imagine anyone from my generation saying anything bad about Mr. Mojo Risin'.

I'm not even sure if I've listened to a Doors song so I have no dog in this fight but I do know some people that absolutely hate them

Well, some people's taste is strictly in their mouths, I suppose. While the OP mistakenly identifies The Doors as the "best effing band ever," they are without a doubt a very good band. I guess musical taste is a very individual thing, because much of what I see featured on this music board sucks IMO, but others go crazy over it. To each their own.

I'm not a huge Doors fan but I definitely respect them. Morrison was quite the song writer, and the guy although out of his mind on drugs, wrote about whatever he wanted. To say they are the best band ever might be a massive stretch, and to me it is, but it's a subjective statement.
Jimi Hendirx and The Allman Brothers Band hold that title for me

TBH I think they are a good band, but dont deserve to be in the conversation for best band ever.
