Beatles are the most overrated band of alltime IMO.

And I hate hearing all these old timers talk about how awesome they were... No, no they weren't. Their music hasn't changed from then till now and I've listened to it all and, save for a handful of songs, there really isn't anything special.

The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd
all 3 very influential but don't think anyone can make an argument that they were MORE influential than the fab 4

It just isnt Friday without at least one meltdown in one of these threads. The beatles are the backstreet boys of that era. Who else would be?

Seriously? The Monkees.

How can you tell an old timer something they thought was awesome isn't when you didn't live in that time?

what does this even mean? Is their music supposed to change 40 years after it was recorded?

I dont give a shite about influence. Mississippi delta blues was more influential than all of them.

You askede to name three that were better. The stones, grateful dead and pink floyd are far better and more consistent over time than the beatles. They were just the first real rock band and thats about it. Just like buddy bolden was the first jazz musician doesnt necessarily make him the best.

You can't hang with the MB...it's ok GC, most can't.

They were more like NSYNC. The Beatles were the backstreet boys. Lets be real, they were a band for teenage girls in the 60s hence the popularity.

Again, I hate the Beatles, but this statement is just plain stupid.

What they did at that time was brand new and absolutely special.

asked for 3 who made a bigger impact on music. Do a quick google search and check out the studio techniques the beatles intergratted into their music

quote:

The Beatles (and their recording engineers) either pioneered or popularized Artificial Double Tracking (ADT), back masking, tuned feedback, spliced audio loops, distortion, equalization, stereo effects, multi-tracking (overdubbing), compression, phase shifting, and innovative “microphoning.” Although the Beatles are not credited with the invention of most of these studio tricks, they were responsible for directly inspiring countless musical acts that were desperate to copy their unique sounds.

And that's not even including stuff like playing in stadiums and simple stuff like printing lyrics on an album sleeve

you say this like it's a bad thing, broski. The MB has the rep on TD of being that board that let a couple of high schoolers run it

One of three things is going on here:
1. Trolling
2. You are 17 years old
3. You are a complete moron

I will go with #1.

Sweet, their musics still boring

The music board IS the best board on TD besides the food board perhaps. The triumvirate are ten years past high school I assure you. Run along back to the sec/tiger rant and play rantard with the other rednecks while we discuss real music.
