The 1975: I like it when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it

The 1975 are set to release their polarizing sophomore album in the next few hours. Anyone else following?
To me, they are the smartest pop act around. I enjoy their music for what it is but spent a good amount of time hating them previously. From what I've heard from the new album, it's definitely a harder listen but very self aware. It's pop but super sharp. They've really doubled down on the 80s sound.
Thoughts so far on your listens?

Recently discovered them on the "Popular on Youtube" channel. They kept having a couple of singles pop trending to where I had to check them out.
The one I remember is "UGH". Has that Maroon 5 kinda catchy melody meets Duran Duran electronic pop sound.
They've already been on SNL, so their stock is definitely rising for mainstream recognizability.
But the songs are so sugary/dime-a-dozen, I don't know that I've heard a pop classic from them yet. For all I know, they may just have a brief period of charting and fall by the wayside like the nuevo-80's pop band Franz Ferdinand did.
