Set up for bass or balance?

More than 25 years ago I had the boom box in my Mazda. 2 15s and a 12 behind my head, Orion red 225 pushing them

Lo and behold I'm getting back into the game. A lot has sure changed. Especially pricing.

So what u got or had ?

Never had a big system in my car because I am white and not from Lafayette.

I used to have two 12 in Atomic Apocalyspe Xs and a 1200 watt Rockford Fosgate amp. Used to hit pretty hard

Had an 1800w Audiobahn on a 15" Eclipse Titanium, downfired. Two Fosgates on Audiobahn mids/highs. Alpine head. Would open the sunroof, put my head through and watch the top of the car turn to rubber.

Can't believe looking back that I spent money on all that nonsense.

At the rate that manufacturers are going, most of the stock stuff is pretty darn good.

Always set up for sound quality. I worked in car audio through college so I've had countless set ups and have a closet full of old equipment. Last two vehicles have been stock.

I always laughed at the people who would take a stock civic and just throw a 15" in a ported box in the back with some huge two channel amp.

I have an Alpine deck with 4 Infinity speakers. I love the way it sounds and it's really user-friendly on operation too. I had a Pioneer stereo in my last car and I hated it. The controls sucked really bad. Station presets were unwieldy, radio sound was kinda crappy and I had to connect to my Ipod through the headphone jack which was just terrible sounding.

In my old truck I started with a Kenwood deck, Rockford Fosgate front and rear speakers, and a Rockford amp. Kenwood deck crapped out so I replaced with a Pioneer, then I got a preboxed and amped MTX sub setup...think it was two 10" subs. Sounded really good for a lower-end system...didn't shake everyone around you, didn't want to be that guy. Definitely more sound driven. That was all circa 2005 or so.

My new truck has a 500w 9 speaker Alpine system stock. Plenty for me. Any vehicle I buy from here on out will have the upgraded stereo for sure.

GFY!

I grew up in BR and about 50% of the white dudes had systems in their cars/trucks.

You probably haven't even been to Lafayette.

Pioneer head unit.

I was always tinkering with that shite.

oh to be young and in the 90's again.

I had a Pioneer deck and 4 Pioneer 6x9s with an 8 inch tube built in the back in my old car that did enough for my needs. I had a stock tube sub that i switched out for...I don't remember the brand actually. it didn't like boom or shake anything but it hit hard enough for my needs.

Always wanted to have like 2 12s in the back with a fat amp and wake up some neighborhoods but never saved enough money. Now i'm in my mid to late 20s and it seems silly now

In my new car i just got Kenwood 6x8s on a Pioneer Premier deck. they suck. Kenwoods suck. I miss my old Pioneers. those frickers sounded perfect.

2 JBL 10's with Kentwood amp. My dad's old setup he had in the early 90's. He won't let me have his Orion Reds.

Looking at some new 15's or possibly the Kicker square 18's.
