I caught him up in Denver this past November. He played almost 3 hours there, too.

I know his brass section are some Nola boys, which he wanted specifically. And his wife apparently went to Tulane.

His jazz fest set is still one of my favorites I've seen. Can't wait for Friday

brad walker is part of his horn section. local BR guy who resides in new orleans. went to LSU. studied jazz.

probably do some special stuff for the nola show if I had to guess being that sturgill has so many folks in his circle from the area.

The most recent set list I saw had 23 songs. So that's at least 2.5 hr

With All "Sailors guide" stuff being last

The break down was
A sailors guide -9
Metamodern- 7
Covers - 2
High top - 5

I hope it's all of Metamodern. I need to hear Just Let Go.

I know he'll play all of Sailors. He'll play When the Levee Breaks which is gonna kick some arse. And he'll play You Don't Miss Your Water. Dunno what songs he might choose from the first album. I'd Have to Be Crazy would be great.

Set list

Can't figure out how to just copy and paste it
There seems to be some variations from show to show but a good mix of albums and covers

Sturgill Friday and first Saturday tailgate of the year is a great combo for the weekend (bad football be damned).

I'm guessing no opener. One would have been announced by now.

so what time will he be going on?

Best place to park?

Any suggestions on a place to eat around there as well?

I'm guessing he will go on around 8.

I'd honestly uber down there if you can. Walking to a car late at night in the area is not idea.

As for food recs, you can go with Domenicas or Bayona's. Both within walking distance and very good. Arnaud's and GW Fins are a bit farther away but both very good, as well.

we dont know. if doors are 7, music starts at 8.

i would assume SOMEONE opening, and him at 9, but it could be just him i guess.

edit: saw some folks in another place discussing no opener on some recent shows, so maybe he will be 8 sharp

depends on your plans before/after, but nothing is going to be dramatically different

there are about 112 restaurants within a brief walk. any details on your interests would probably help (or a ton of threads of FDB)
