El Camino was a bit of a let down. But they get a pass, they had a killer run of amazing albums.

Rhapsody hasn't put the album out yet.

Haven't listened to it yet but I REALLY don't like the single they released.

This board picked them as the band that could do no wrong a long time ago.

With that said, if you've been a Black Keys fan for more than five years you probably won't like it as much.

I hated the single when it first came out too, but once I listened to it with the rest of the album it's not as bad. The rest of the album is pretty damn good, though. It has a bit of a Brothers feel to it. They did a little more experimenting with other instruments, but it doesn't sound forced or out of place.

Still pissed at them for the shite show they put on at Jazzfest last year. Having a hard time getting back into them.

I streamed it on itunes last week and thought that it was better than El Camino

Thankfully nothing else on there really sounds like that first god-awful single they released.

Without a doubt. El Camino was not that good.

Well thats good news.

I havent listened to anything new lately it seems**. Its pretty bad I have to start a thread to see if its worth purchasing my favorite bands album or wait till it comes out on rhapsody.

**Except Lord Huron, which they put out the best album ive listened to in a long time.

Am I the only person who likes old Black Keys and new Black Keys? Granted I prefer the old, but it's not like the last two albums have been bad. At least not how Attack and Release was.

I like old and new. Brothers is probably my favorite album. Rubber Factory being next up. Chulahoma is amazing, but being so short it's hard to throw it in the discussion.

The samples I've heard of the new album sounded pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of their stuff, but I'll give the new album a shot.

This isn't even a rock band anymore. They started as a raw blues/garage rock band with soulful vocals and have turned into a alternative pop duo. Seriously, does Dan even play his guitar anymore? This is selling out at it's finest. Go ahead and give me sh!t about calling them sellouts but that's exactly what they are. No more rock, no more guitars, no more riffs, no more blues.....just beats and disco-ish noise.

It's one thing to evolve but it's another to completely trash what made you popular and turn into whatever is winning awards at the Grammys. And 99% of this board agrees that the crap on the radio (which is what wins at the Grammys) is total garbage.

The first track on it is pretty sick. I haven't given in a full listen yet.

They are at the height of their popularity. The early garage blues minimalist sound isn't what made them popular.

And yes, I'm pretty sure Dan still plays his guitar.
