FWIW, though...If I liked this band, it would definitely be a guilty pleasure.

I'm not as much shocked that people like this crap, but that they openly advertise their like for it.

They're definitely a victim of the hipster I-heard-em-first-therefore-they're-great stigma.

I fricking hate hipsters.

I wonder what genuine hipsters will move onto in terms of fashion/music/etc. once 14-yr old girls start dressing like them en masse.

Whatever it is, they'll have done it first, "before it was cool", to be sure...

They're not for everybody. Kind of remind me of a few of Crystal Castles songs that are a challenge. And I really dig Crystal Castles.

Their first album is better but I like Allison's vocals on quite a few tracks on the new album.

They are a Noise band and certainly arent for everbody. Certain people still don't "get" MBV Loveless either.

FWIW, I saw them at the varsity last year and the best way to describe it is "fun"

High energy, riffy, good times.

I dont think they are trying to convince anyone the are great songrwriters or musicians.

They are loud as frick and I enjoyed it.

Sleigh Bells > Nickelback

Not a huge fan, but I dig a couple songs.

I'm 34, and wear solid shirts (no stripes).

Thank You.

Although not really my taste, I can see why young people would like this. Its definitely not awful.

There's just a lot of indie pop music that is a flash in the pan. In 5 years, who the hell will care about sleigh bells?

Lucero on the other hand will still be a band putting out records and touring.

I'm not the biggest fan of hipsters, as I encounter a lot of them as I go to shows of bands I like, but I also dislike the reflexive anti-hipster people, who just hate anyone who likes something different and invents other people's motives for what they like. Both stereotypes are wrong.

But sometimes the stereotype is right. I go to SXSW pretty much every year, and my sister-in-law's friends would go to a show, listen to two songs, literally check the band's name off a list, and then go to another show. That's not appreciating music, that's just collecting. They just wanted to say, "I saw X many bands and I saw Y before they were cool" but the terrible thing is that they really didn't see anything.

They walked into a show I was at - they talked over Lissie's last song, which was a beuatiful beautiful song, and then ignored the first two songs of the Low Anthem's set before walking out. Both sets were amazing and I'm not sure they really heard a note. THAT is the kind of hipster I loathe.
