What's your price range? Doesn't get much better than a Gibson ES-335.

Squier thinline telly, upgrade the pots, and you have a great guitar for under 500 bucks.
I have a lot of great guitars, but this is my favorite to play at home.

I have an Epiphone ES-339 and love it. Less than 500 bucks sounds great and easier to play the higher frets than the 335

Gretsch?
Good enough for The Cult.
Otherwise. ES-335. Every fat black man who ever wailed the blues can't be wrong. Lol

I have a Burns Steer I like a lot. I did swap out the neck pickup for a Brian May Trisonic.

Have a 1962 Gibson ES120, don't really play it much

I'm a Thinline guy myself, so much that I picked up three cool tone wood Thinline bodies at the Dallas vintage show earlier this month for custom builds ... figured swamp ash; lacewood over mahogany; and spalted maple over mahogany.

Check out the Gibson Midtown - it fits your price range. I bought the sunburst w/out G-FORCE system (auto-tuning) last year and really love it.

Pros/cons of a semi-hollow over a solidbody ...
Pros: Lighter weight; an inherent resonant, airy midrange that's more vocal-like and more musical for most folks' ears. Works great for pure cleans and pushed/grind OD situations.
Cons: More prone to feedback at higher volumes, particularly in high gain situations. That midrange I described above can also get honky under gain as well. SHs are more vulnerable to structural issues too, they're simply more delicate than a solid plank of wood. True semi-hollows in particular can see their tops crack, their tops dimple/compress inward due to string tension over time.
Thinlines straddle the line and the points above somewhere between a true solidbody and a SH, that's why I personally like them.

Greco Super Real SA64-70.
It is an Japanese make replica from the 80's of a 1964 Gibson ES-335.

Total side tangent.
WTF???
What the hell is that? I am a compulsive Reverb.com stalk shopper. I amuse myself with the "high to low" search order. This thing came up.
Did they get hacked? There is no hollow bodybguitar worth a million dollars right? Unless if was Freddie Kings and his ghost came with it to play shows for your friends?
Not trying to drag poli board nonsense on here. But it has Trump and the headstock.
I assume this is a joke or a hack.
Plus I don't like the image from the seller. The store sign design is Hank Williams Sr. with a chimp face shopped in?

Gretsch?
Not a big deal but just for clarity, I don't think any of the original Gretsch guitars were semi-hollow bodies. Billy Duffy's White Falcon was definitely not a semi-hollow. I think maybe some of Gretsch's more recent "budget" Electromatic line are semi-hollows? not sure....
