It's cool to hate on him for a list of reasons, all of which are dumb.
I have his album and enjoy it. It's not on constant rotation, but it's good.

Smith has the potential to be another George Michael. He has a better range than Michael and has a bluesy element to his voice.

He's an extremely talented singer with a unique sound. I really enjoyed the album. One of the best male pop voices in recent memory.

He can obviously sing, but does tend to whine too much at times. "Lay Me Down" and his radio hits aren't bad. The rest of his album is just so meh. He's ok I guess. As far as what's on the radio there are much worse than him.
