The rest...
Springsteen.

I like Sneakin' Sally more than any works of the other two.
Backed by Lowell and The Meters, yeah it came off well and I do like the album. Ther better songs were not written by Palmer.
Neither Palmer or Lewis could touch early Springsteen.

All true, and "Sneakin'" was written by Allen Toussaint.
Springsteen. Period.
Besides, one of Huey Lewis's guys spilled drinks on my sister when she waited on them in a N.O. restaurant way back in his heyday...

Yeah i think most people see RP and think about fried chicken commercials, but he undoubtedly has the most range/versatility of the three.

Further to the revisionist hate of Sprngsteen, where the frick has the love for Frampton and Huey Lewis come from?

Springsteen
Huey
Palmer
If we're just talking about the 80's. Bruce had some cheesy songs but lyrically they had some soul.
In the end what you don't surrender
Well the world just strips away
Well, it ought to be easy ought to be simple enough, yeah
Man meets woman and they fall in love
But the house is haunted and the ride gets rough
And you've got to learn to live with what you can't rise above
If you want to ride on down, down in through this tunnel of love
Huey
Palmer

I didn't really intend for this thread to turn into shitting on the different artists, but I've had this question of which i like more rumbling around in my head for years.
I think Robert Palmer is being underrated here- Woke Up Laughing is an incredible song but you never hear it on the radio. I actually only know about it because it is used for a short scene in Pineapple Express- which, coincidentally, Huey Lewis created a fantastic song for.
Powrr of Love alone forces me to maintain Huey at the #2 spot.
I like Springsteen a lot, maybe I haven't been exposed to him to extent some of the big fans on here have. Big fan of Dancin in the Dark

I saw Huey Lewis & The News once, back in the day. Fun show, but on par with plenty of other shows I'd seen.
Saw Power Station once, also back in the day...however, Robert Palmer left the band before they came to my town, so I can't say I didn't try. Still, it was a good time, screaming teenage girls notwithstanding, lol...
Springsteen isn't one of my "go to" artists when looking for something to listen to in the living room, but his shows are some of the best I'd ever seen. He could play a show with the house lights on, and still blow away 90% of what's out there.
