Bridge of Troubled Water was incredible. He just stood up there and sang it flawlessly.

Great, soaring male voice
Within pop/rock music, there are a handful of legendary "harmony" duos and groups.
The Beach Boys. The Mamas and the Papas. (Amazingly, these groups somehow mated and had a baby singing group - Wilson Phillips). CSN(Y). The Eagles (yeah, I know, but they delivered some great harmonies). But Simon and Garfunkel is probably my favorite 2-part harmony - and part of it is that they let the singing do the work - most of their songs were stripped down, acoustic guitar "folk" songs.
While Simon wasn't a bad singer himself (and an underrated guitarist), Art Garfunkel has/had an elite voice. One of the best male voices in pop/rock of the past 50 years.

Pete:
We're not like brother and sister…you know what we're like? We're like Simon and Garfunkel and, somehow, you turned me into Garfunkel.
Debbie:
I don't even know what that means...
Pete:
Art Garfunkel.
Debbie:
What's wrong with Art Garfunkel? He has a beautiful voice.
Pete:
He's got an amazing voice He could put a harmony to anything! But what I'm saying is..is that you turned me into him.
Debbie:
What the he'll are you talking about?
Pete:
Simon controls him!
Debbie:
That's because Simon writes the fricking songs! he's the better one!

Paul Simon was jealous of The Voice.
When Garfunkel would say "Thank you" after preforming Bridge Over Troubled Water, Simon would say "your welcome. I wrote that song."
10/10 voice
1/10 songwriter

He's stated that one of his regrets in life was letting Artie take the lead vocals in that song.
"People would have forgotten about him after we split up, if it weren't for that song - the song I wrote."
ETA: And recall they had to talk Garfunkel into it - he preferred Simon's falsetto on the demo, but everyone else around them thought Artie's voice fit the song better. And it did, of course.

Bridge 1969
This performance is from the tour for Bridge Over Troubled Water... but the album would not come out for a couple of months later. This crowd had never heard of the song. Tremendous reaction from them when it was over.

Good lord, how petty.
If people remembering Art Garfunkel is one of Simon's regrets, he can GFH.
The GOAT of harmony: Don and Phil Everly.
