Did anyone else see this on Showtime? It was pretty good, but it was definitely the Frankie Banali story. They cut out large swaths of the history. Still, good to see so much mention of Randy Rhoads.

It's excellent. I loved it. What is funny is Kevin Dubrow's brother is Terry Dubrow, who is a famous plastic surgeon in L.A. They interview him in the documentary. The trouble they had getting a new lead singer in it is actually funny.

I was really bummed that Carlos didn't agree to be interviewed.
How awkward was the scene at the autograph session in Germany?

Someone thought Quiet Riot merited a documentary?

On a somewhat unrelated note, saw them live at the Caterie years ago for one and one reason only. Rudy Sarzo. He was friggin phenomenal. Very underrated bassist. The rest of the band, so so.

Thanks for the tip. Just started downloading it from DirecTv.

I think you're overestimating what it cost to film this

tough to say. but they played a major role in kick starting the metal explosion of the 80's. Metal Health & Pyromania helped change the scene.

How uncomfortable was it watching the replacement singers they toured with (Mark Huff and then Scott Vokoun)having to deal with Frankie Dipshit Banali breathing over them? There's no way I would ever want to be the next singer for THAT band. Banali is a prick and DuBrow's death only helped him profit money and a 2nd failed shot at fame.
The band is NOTHING without DuBrow just as Twisted Sister would be nothing without Snider. If there was a second/third talented member of that group it was Carlos Cavazo and Rudy Sarzo. That's why Quiet Riot sucks. It's Banali and a revolving door of musicians (St. John is solid, though, IMO). They should have tried to work better with Tracii Guns when he joined about a decade ago. Apparently Banali and him had little to nothing in common and he left after a month or two of being in the band.

Are these the dudes whose only hit was a redux of a Slade tune?

Two Slade tunes, actually. At least Noddy and the boys made some extra cash off of them.

I saw this about a year ago or so, when I couldn't sleep one night...
It was kinda depressing... Amazing how these guys were on top of the world for 15 mins and have been struggling ever since.
Their experiences with lead singers was comical...
I give 'em credit that they want to keep rocking and persevering... I couldn't imagine playing those same 15-20 songs every night for the past 30 years.. and the desire to keep doing so. I guess it beats getting a 9-5..

It was pretty sad actually. Frankie came off as a dick most of the entire show.
Funny how they found this random dude off the streets who could sing decent enough to front that band and had a hard time remembering the lyrics to a former major simple song 40 shows into a tour. Guy couldn't even manage 15 minutes of fame, looked more like 2 1/2 minutes of fame.
