Just downloaded the program on my laptop and I'm trying to figure out how to use it properly.

First question, can you burn playlists to a CD? I am assuming no, but is there a way you can pay for a song like on iTunes or is this program simply for just listening to music purposes.

Second question, can you download the App and load the playlists you create from your laptop to your smartphone?

TIA

To answer your questions:

No
Yes

You don't own the music on spotify, you just have the rights to stream it. The free service allows you to stream from a PC with ads and use the radio app on your phone. The pay service allows you to stream an unlimited amount of music from your PC or Phone, ad-free.

You can allow spotify on your PC to pull in playlists from itunes, but I don't think you can access these playlists on your phone. The playlists you create on spotify should be available on the smartphone app (if you paid for the service).

You log in on your phone and all your playlists show up.

You have to pay 10 a month for the App

Well worth it though imo

Only if you want to stream music on demand. If you only want to use spotify radio, it's free.

the catch with the free version is the ads are brutally long. as in, 5 minutes + for one ad.

$10/mo gets you unlimited downloads and allows you to sync with any device and share the playlist with any Spotify (paid or free) user.

I have my gameday playlist shared with a few others that tailgate with us and all my music is synced up to my laptop, iphone, ipad, wife's laptop, and wife's iphone.

The $10 bucks a month for spotify premium is some of the best $10 I spend each month. Very worth it.

I might eventually get the pay version, but the free version is still pretty damn sweet. I've subscribed to more playlists than I have time to listen to.
